PUNK'S FIGHT
In the third book of the Punk Reichert series, Punk gets to see the war in Afghanistan from the ground after he inadvertently blows himself out of the sky during a strike on a Taliban position. When the Americans lose three helicopters on the susequent rescue mission, Punk has no choice but to stick with the Northern Alliance to find his way back home. Over the course of the journey to capture the western city of Herat, Punk is forced to fully look into the face of war - a circumstance that will change his outlook toward his chosen profession forever.
